چکیده

Abstract Gastrointestinal nematodes are responsible for great economic losses in sheep raising, and their control has long been carried out almost exclusively by the administration of anthelmintics, which have led to serious resistance problems. In search alternative measures, phytotherapic research is highlighted. The aim this study was evaluate action Anethum graveolens (dill) essential oil on different stages Haemonchus contortus life cycle, as well its cytotoxicity MDBK (Madin-Darby bovine kidney) cells. H. larvae eggs were obtained from infected feces, extracted plant seeds through Clevenger apparatus. 9.4, 4.7, 2.35, 1.17. 0.58 0.29 mg/mL concentrations evaluated. Egg Hatch Inhibition (HI), Larval Development (LDI) Migration (LMI) techniques used. Thybendazole 0.025 HI Levamisole 0.02 LDI LMI tests used positive controls, while distilled water a Tween 80 solution negative controls. inhibition results highest concentration were: 100%, 98.58% 63.7%, differing ( <0.05) Main A. components present 95.93% total Dihydrocarvone (39.1%), Carvone (22.24%), D-Limonene (16.84%), Apiol (10.49%) Trans-dihydrocarvone (7.26%). Minimum required inhibit 50% (IC50) egg hatching, larval development migration 0.006 mg/mL, 2.536 3.963 respectively. Cell viability cells, when incubated with oil, 86% (9.4 mg/mL) 99% lowest (0.29 mg/mL). according study, promising gastrointestinal nematode control.

The Mechanism of Antifungal Action of Essential Oil from Dill (Anethum graveolens L.) on Aspergillus flavus

The essential oil extracted from the seeds of dill (Anethum graveolens L.) was demonstrated in this study as a potential source of an eco-friendly antifungal agent. To elucidate the mechanism of the antifungal action further, the effect of the essential oil on the plasma membrane and mitochondria of Aspergillus flavus was investigated. The lesion in the plasma membrane was detected through flow...

Moisture Stress Effects on Survival of Infective Haemonchus contortus Larvae.

Water was evaporated from infective Haemonchus contortus larvae suspended in tap, distilled and triple-distilled water, and the nematodes were then exposed to 50% and 75% relative humidity (RH) at 20, 30, 40, and 50 C. Sample groups were rehydrated 4 hr daily in similar quality water, observed for motility, then returned to the same RH and temperature and re-evaporated. This was continued until...
